Great Pacific Ocean Charters
Great Pacific Ocean Charters

We have single kayaks, double kayaks and canoes for rent and offer taxi services to the best spots in the area. Barkley Sound is a beautiful place for paddling. The combination of open ocean, tall mountains and a huge network of islands makes for spectacular scenery and conditions. Whether you are a seasoned professional or just starting out there are great conditions for all skill levels. The more adventurous may want to explore the rugged outer edge of Barkley Sound, while others may prefer to explore the maze of calm, protected waterways within the island groups or Ucluelet Inlet. Common wildlife include gray whales, humpback whales, Stellar and California sea lions, harbour seals, harbour porpoise, black bears and occasionally orca. We also see a wide variety of marine birds including bald eagles, great blue herons, harlequin ducks and belted kingfishers.

Our kayaks are all large ocean touring models with great stability and large storage capacity. They are professionally built by Lightspeed and Delta Kayaks and specifically designed to excel in our local marine conditions.

Broken Group Islands

One of the best paddling destinations in the world is the Broken Group islands. Located in the centre of Barkley Sound, these remote and pristine islands are part of the Pacific Rim National Park. Made up of over 100 individual islands, there are endless possibilities for exploration. Parks Canada maintains a collection of beautiful campsites, offering a great place to set up base camp.

Deer Group Islands

Another stunning collection of islands, the Deer Group also offers spectacular paddling opportunities. There are number of unofficial campsites to choose from, each having it's own character and exposure. We would be happy to show you our favorite locations when you arrive.
